DIGS (Dwelling Intervention Grants & Sustenance)

DIGS (Dwelling Intervention Grants & Sustenance) provides assistance designed to prevent homelessness in the wake of a short-term financial emergency for a household.

The DIGS Program is located at Hospitality House, 1490 Martin Street in Madison. To make an appointment with the DIGS Coordinator, call (608) 252-8522 on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 8:30 and 9:00a.m.

Assistance provided on Monday, Wednesday, & Friday:

  • Bus Tickets
  • Medicine Vouchers
  • Gas Vouchers
  • I.D.
  • Out of Town
  • Work Related (shoes, bus tickets, etc.)

At St. John’s Church on Monday, Wednesday, & Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. (322 E. Washington Ave, 256-2337)

Assistance provided on Monday, Wednesday, & Friday:

  • Eviction Prevention
  • Utility Assistance
  • First Month Help
  • Apartment Application Fees
  • Car Repairs (Limited Help)

To make an appointment:

  • For housing help (rent, first month, utilities) call 252-8522 on Tuesday or Thursday between 8:30 a.m. and 9:00 a.m.
  • For any other type of assistance, call 252-8522 on Monday, Wednesday, or Friday starting at 8:30 a.m. sharp.
