On Sunday, the Wisconsin State Journal posted an article on Madison.com about a new crowdsourcing, micro-granting program called Madison Soup. The group needs every two months for a home-cooked meal and awards a small grant to one organization or group who is working on a project to benefit the Madison community.
In December, Madison Soup hosted 44 attendees at Sector67 and awarded $252 to Meg Rothstein, who formed a Creative Writing Group at the new Madison Day Warming Shelter. The writing group now has about 10 writers who meet twice a week. Meg says the money was used to buy composition notebooks, pens and help offset open mic reading expenses.
